The exhibit “DYNAVERSITY – Plant, People and the Future of Food” travelled to Latvia! While the Italian tour continues until November, a “pocket” version of the exhibit was displayed at the Europarc Conference 2019, taking place from 24 to 27 September.

The event is held in Jūrmala, the biggest resort city in the Baltics, partly situated within Ķemeri National Park – the pioneer protected area in Latvia having been awarded with the European Charter for sustainable tourism.

Entitled “Nature on your mind – understanding our values”, the conference is the perfect framework for the DYNAVERSITY exhibit. It explores the presence of nature across various sectors and spheres of life, especially highlighting the role of nature in human health.

The Europarc Conference 2019 includes high-level key note speakers, 14 workshops and thematically linked field trips to different protected areas in Latvia.

DYNAVERSITY Italian partners Rete Semi Rurali and Federparchi attended the conference, presenting the project and its collaboration between protected areas and an innovative management of biodiversity in agriculture. They also contributed to the DYNAVERSITY exhibit set-up at the event.

The exhibit portraits community of people experimenting new ways to promote agrobiodiversity, combining tradition and innovation in agriculture.

The pictures by Italian photographer Italo Rondinella were taken in Italy, Ireland, Hungary, France, and Spain. The exhibit, supported by the DYNAVERSITY project, will keep travelling around Europe in the next months.
