Towards dynamic in situ conservation and sustainable use of agrobiodiversity: join us at the DYNAVERSITY virtual final conference on April 20, 9:30 am – 3:30 pm CEST

After four years of analyzing and supporting plant genetic conservation networks, the DYNAVERSITY H2020 project is coming to an end. On Tuesday 20th April 2021, from 09:00 am until 3:30 pm CEST, we will present our main results during the DYNAVERSITY virtual Final Conference.

All the project’s partners will attend, but all interested stakeholders are welcome to register.

For the past four years, project partners have analyzed and described different actors and networks involved in the in situ or on-farm conservation and dynamic management of genetic resources and crop diversity. The project has provided precious opportunities to exchange, integrating scientific and practical knowledge on how to best manage diversity in agriculture and the entire food chain in order to restore evolutionary and adaptation processes.

Following up the DIVERSIFOOD project, the DYNAVERSITY project shows that agricultural biodiversity, as human-made diversity, is only truly conserved and dynamically managed with the participation of a variety of local actors organized in networks and anchored in diverse social realities.

The conference will provide an opportunity to look back at the main outcomes of the project, ranging from different case studies to communication and training tools, as well as policy recommendations.

The event also aims to look forward by discussing institutional & policy frameworks for crop diversity governance, trying to identify the changes needed to overcome existing bottlenecks to the development of activities focusing on crop diversity conservation and management in different seed systems.
