Study on CSA and Cultivated Biodiversity

A study identifying “best practices” of on farm and in situ management of plant biodiversity in Community Supported Agriculture (CSAs) and CSAs networks.

It was realized by the international network for Community-Supported Agriculture Urgenci, Dynaversity project, which works to identify the actors involved in plant genetic conservation for agriculture, in order to shape new models of networks and to develop new schemes of governance.

Articles on the need for the CSA movement

To highlight the need for the CSA movement to recognize and be more active on the issue of cultivated biodiversity, the Dynaversity partner URGENCI realized a series of three articles, where best practices from the CSA movement are shared.

The seed of my plate, French Book

At the origin of all food coming from the earth, there is a seed. The wheat seed is the origin of our bread, the tomato seed is the origin of our salads, the alfalfa seed eaten by the cow is the origin of our cheese, and a grape seed was the origin of our grape varieties and our wine.

La graine de mon assiette (“The seed of my plate”) is a book by the Dynaversity partner Véronique Chable (INRAE), to re-evaluate the history of seeds.

Dynaversity Concepts for Agrobiodiversity Booklet

The Environmental Social Science Research Group (ESSRG) in Hungary, Dynaversity partner, identified 5 main building blocks of agrobiodiversity, defining common terms to create new network opportunities and capacity building activities across Europe. This booklet sums up the 5 selected agrobiodiversity concepts, with the overall goal to provide a common knowledge base about the conservation of plant genetic resources for food and agriculture.

Dynaversity Bridges for Agrobiodiversity

How can we build bridges among different crop diversity initiatives to connect people and tackle obstacles? To answer this question, the Dynaversity project analyzed 21 experiences in Europe and USA representing the  players and networks involved in in situ and on farm conservation, and their interrelations. The whole set of case studies analyses covers different geographical regions, different crop types and species and different actor categories.
